Weatherboarding
The client wanted to remove the external door and replace it with a wall and then weatherboard it to match the existing structure. As you can see from the images I first had to remove the door and any damaged weatherboarding, then I built the wall and joined the new weatherboarding to the old using the same oak. Once completed I treated and painted to match, now looks like there was never a door there!
Bathroom
The client required a complete redesign and fit of there bathroom, once the old suite, tiles and old plaster were removed I first replastered and tidied the walls where necessary and then tiled the bathroom taking care to fit around the ceiling beams and into the shelving insets in the chimney breast above the original fireplace. I added underfloor heating before tiling the floor. Once tiled the new suite was plumbed and fitted to create a stylish bathroom.
Living room project - Decorating
This project was to completely re-do the living room of this house, to start I removed the old fireplace and stripped the walls and coving from the ceiling.
Living room project - Fireplace
As part of this rooms redecoration the old fireplace needed to be replaced. Once the old fireplace had been removed it was replaced with a new stone fireplace and mantel to make a stunning focal point to the room.
Living room project - Flooring
This floor was the last part of this project, after previously decorating and replacing the fireplace (see above) I then laid the quality oak floor. To get the best overall effect I had not yet replaced the skirting board in the room so that the required expansion gaps were hidden, I also laid tight to the new fireplace so that when the room was finished the overall effect was clean and crisp.
Living room project - The finished article
Now the room is completed, the floor has been varnished and polished, the skirting boards and new coving has all been put in place.
Subsidence damage
This property was falling apart due to subsidence, my job was to shore up any large cracks, repair/replace any damaged brickwork and plaster and then finish and redecorate. As you can see in the pictures the damage was quite extensive in places especially on the exterior wall over the front door but after completion the house was back to all its glory.
Decorating
For this attic room I had to remove the old wallpaper and replaster where necessary then redecorate the walls, re-artex the ceiling and also make the two wooden doors (one for the cupboard and a small one for the loft space).
